Will be interesting to see if we get a trip report after they return. They just did not have any luck with the weather. Heavy snows in the mountains, today and I-70 has been closed a couple of time. Then the storm moves onto the front range on Monday and Tuesday. Better luck next time.

Where did all of this damn cold weather and snow come from? They are continuing to have bad luck. Looks like this snow will stay with us for a couple of days. Someone forgot to turn on the spring weather button. It is spring time in the Rockies.

PS Fort Collins is having a huge snowstorm right now. It is only grey skies here in Denver, but they are having a messy snow day with schools closed. We have so many micro-climates in Colorado. That's why it cracks me up the national coverage Denver gets, because people see snow and they assume it's in Denver, which usually it isn't.

I know. I was trying to convince someone the other day that Denver gets comparatively little snow--and when it does come it goes pretty fast. And 300 days of sunshine!!
Heard from son's inlaws about snow through the weekend and all the way back to Denver (from Frisco).
I am in LOVE with that little town,by the way. Had great Cajun food plus Italian (begins with a "b").

Denver's average snow fall is around 60" so five feet is not an insignificant amount but small compared to the mountains which can get 5' in one snowfall. The average is about the same as Chicago. The grey skies right now are dumping so much white that I cannot see across the gully. Maybe 50 yards.

I wasn't really inferring it didn't snow--I LOVE Denver when it is snowing!! But people DO tend to think of it as a ski town I think.
Big wow, but I do suspect by this time of year you are really ready to be done with it. Think of it as good for your drought!!

As for "nipped in the bud"--welcome to the Carolinas. We have Bradford pear trees lining many of our streets--they are a sort of cone shaped tree that bloom a beautiful white all at once. Two out of three years we'll have a cold snap and they turn a "lovely" shade of taupe!! LOL This was a good year for us!!
