Denver Hotels?

Based on the activities you've listed, I'd say a downtown hotel is a good idea. I agree with Kima's choices, the Comfort Inn in downtown Denver on 17th St. is walking distance to many attractions. The CI offers continental breakfast and is connected to The Brown Palace Hotel (4-star hotel) which means you have access to their restaurants, concierge and 24-hour room service (I know of no other Comfort Inn ANYWHERE that offers these amenities).
Their rates are usually around $109.00 - $119.00 per night (dbl ocpny) depending on when you're planniung to travel.
I don't know how much the Courtyard by Marriot is but if comparable in price it is also a good location for downtown and offers great accessibility to shopping, restaurants, etc.
Either choice would present you with a good spot to easily get to the places on your list.

Hi - Just stayed at the Hyatt Downtown this weekend. Nice hotel, great breakfast buffet. Good location, right near the 16th Street Mall. We also ate at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner - WONDERFUL! But be prepared for a wait. Have a great time!

Pam I do not know that I would stay there. What place are you looking at? Be careful as some of those places near there are nasty.
Another thought is that Denver has some wonderful restored mansions that have been converted to B&Bs. Several are near Downtown and are on the bus route. That would help with parking Downtown which can be a challange.

I am looking at the Quality Inn and the Super 8 at I-25 and 58th Ave. Does anyone know anything about discount tickets to Six Flags? 2 for 1 offers? We have baseball tickets for 2 night games so will do the mint one morning but could use advise on what to do the other morning. Have to be at the park for batting practice so don't have a lot of time to go very far away. Wondering about drive into the mountains?

Pam,
I-25 & 58th Ave. is not a good area for anything. I would seriously reconsider staying in that area. You would have to drive literally everywhere and even if you could walk somewhere from there you would not want to.
As far as other ideas go, Denver Aquarium would be a fun morning activity and the mountains are only 30-45 minutes from downtown Denver.
Have fun!

For God's sake do not stay anywhere near 58th and I25. The only thing around there is the Merchandise Mart and warehouses. Look also some of the suburbs, Lakewood, Wheatridge, Aurora, etc. Good Interstate system will get you across town in not too much time.

There are lots of great sites to visit in Denver and the Denver area. In my opinion, the mint is not one of them. I think you can find something much more interesting as the Natural History Museum, Four Mile Historic Park, Littleton Living History Museum, the Platte River Raft ride, the around the city trolley ride.

Pam one last suggestions. It sounds as if your on a budget. I can relate!
There is a Sheraton Four points in the Cherry Creek area. Four Points by Sheraton Denver Cherry Creek
600 S. Colorado Blvd, From there you can take the "B" line bus system. The "B" is not a bus per se but a van shuttle http://www.rtd-denver.com/ click on special rides to get more information. you can take it to downtown fairly easily and skip the parking hassle. Parking in denver can be exspensive and easliy eat up any hotal savings you might get by staying far away. Once Downtown there is the free 16th st mall shuttle as well as the traditional bus system. That would work well for 6 flags, coors field, the mint and other attractions.
