Denver, CO restaurants

A large group of women who have been hiking in the San Juans need a great restaurant near the Denver airport or somewhat near it.
Mid-range in price, we like all cuisines, and a great setting (outdoor?) would be nice. Any recommendations?

DIA is in the middle of nowhere. You'll need to look for a nearby town. What looks to be on the way from where you are hiking. I'm not clear on where the San Juans are.

It looks as though we will be arriving to DIA by way of Fairplay-285, I believe. We are stopping at Gunnison for coffee...and then on to the airport. I thought we might clean up there and then all go out for dinner but I'd like it to be somewhat convenient if there is anyway.

laurelee,

Let me get this straight: You're planning to go to DIA to clean up before dinner? Are you flying out that same day or do you merely have hotel rooms out near the airport?

The reason I ask is that, if you are indeed heading north on 285 (via Fairplay), eventually you're route will take you right by downtown Denver on your way to the airport (285 to C-470; C-470 to I-70; I-70 to airport). As Gretchen mentioned there is really nothing decent out there so your best bet would probably be to either, a) stop downtown on the way to the airport or, b) clean up at your hotel and then head back downtown.

Let me know a little more info and what in particular you're looking for.

I think we could head back downtown-how long would that take in the evening hours?
We would like a restaurant with flavorful food-great salads perhaps, nothing real heavy but delicious. A view would be wonderful. Moderately priced. It's our last night hiking in the Silverton/Ourey/Telluride area before we head back to Minnesota. There are 13 of us! Mid-age adventuresome women!
