DENALI HIGHWAY CABINS
I found this place advertised in THE MILEPOST,(Richardson Hwy) yet when I called to book, the phone is out of service and no other number given. I e-mailed them instead and that came as undeliverable. Would anyone have any idea as how to reach them or know what has happened to this place? We were hoping to stay in the area in July and take the evening float trip..Is there any other nice place to stay in this area if this one is no longer in business?

Earth Song Lodge at Healy, about 20 mins north of Denali. We stayed there couple years ago, you will love the place. We have been able to make it back because we have a young child now. Earth Song is a place I can live there for weeks! Check out their websit www.earthsonglodge.com

You may want to check out the Copper Landing Princess Hotel. It is about midway between Delta Junction and Valdez. We stayed there last summer. Upscale hotel for Alaska, excellent views of St. Wrangell/Elias. Last year they also had a midweek special where a Wed stay was free with a prior booking.

INCOGNITO: did you mean these CABINS are closed for good or just for the season? Seeing as our trip is in July, i would be more than willing to try booking later in the upcoming months. We also were interested in doing the evening float trip. I have not been able to come up with as nice a place in the area. We are coming from Fairbanks and trying not to drive over 200 miles a day.

These are two different areas, Healy/Paxson. If looking for lodging on the Richardson, I too recommend the Copper Princess if they repeat their $99/specials or more "local" consider the Copper Center Roadhouse- also a must stop for food.

Thanks for all the input, but just wanted to report back in case anyone else tries to reach this place. I tried e-mailing the tours section of his website instead of the cabins and got a response yesterday! The owner is away till Feb. when we will finalize our stay.
