December Hotel Decision

I currently have reservations at On The Ave December 14 - 18 for $269.00 for a superior room. Could I get a better price on priceline in December or should I stick with what I have? Trying to watch my budget.

Thank You

Looking at the win calendar on betterbidding.com someone has already won a room on those dates at the Intercontinental Barclay for $220/night. It's an older hotel but it's considered 4* while On the Ave. is considered 3*. It's impossible to tell whether you could also get that deal but if you're willing to stay in midtown, I think it's possible you could get a 4* hotel for less than $269.

I assume you realize On the Ave. is not a PL hotel so you can't get that one. In fact, the only UWS hotel on PL is the Excelsior. I'm also assuming that you're somewhat fussy about room size/quality since you chose a superior room rather than a standard. When you win a PL bid, it's whatever they have available. You could certainly try bidding on PL and see if you get something since I gather the reservation you have is cancelable.

On the Ave is a very pleasant hotel - and you obviously want a more upscale room. Are you willing to take anything Priceline is offering (hotel, location and room) to save $50 a night?

On The Ave is runnning a special online for 269. The standard room runs 249 and is only 150 square feet. The superior for 269 is 260 square feet, quite a difference so I figured it was worth the extra $20 a day. I usually use priceline but from what I've seen no one is getting a very good price. The last time we came to new york I got $110 at the Hilton next to ground zero (september). Thank to everyone for your info.
