Day trips from Vegas

We will be in Vegas Nov. 15-18. We're thinking of taking a day trip on one of the days. Last time we were in LV we went to the Grand Canyon. Just wondering if any of the Utah sights are within range for a trip in which we would come back that night. Thanks.

We drove to Zion and back in a day, but it left little time to really explore Zion.
There is also Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, trip around Lake Mead, a day trip to Death Valley, or up to Mt. Charleston you might want to consider.

Type "Grand Canyon" in the text search field of this website and you'll have all the recommendations you need.

Jim,

A round trip to Zion National Park and back to Las Vegas is 325 miles. If you get a very early start this would be well worth a day trip. This is a fast drive because most of it is on Interstate 15.

Going to Bryce in the same day would really be pushing it, it would add another 170 miles.

If you did the Grand Canyon last year that was a 560 mile round trip, just to give you an idea.

Zion is beautiful and is just the opposite of the Grand Canyon. Instead of looking down into a canyon, you are at the bottom looking up at these great stone towers.

Briabroad,

The N. Rim will be closed and you can have snow at the S. Rim but it's open. Elevation is 7,000 feet. I've never been at this time of the year, but I imagine it will be cold.

Zion National Park makes for a great day trip from Las Vegas, amazing scenery and quite easy to do in one day. Despite the number of bus tours departing from LV every day to the Grand Canyon, it really requires more than a day, the drive is long and there's so much to see when get there. So, if you're not intending to stay overnight I'd recommend Zion over the Grand Canyon.

I also am thinking of a day trip while in Vegas.Does anyone know of any good companies that do the fly/ground tours to the Grand Canyon? Has anyone done this tour and how did you like it?
Thanks for any help
