anyone have any good day or 1 nite overnights from Breckenridge? We are new condo owners in Breck. and would like to take some fun trips to places like Colorado springs, Estes Park, RMNP, Glenwood springs-places I have been told about. Any good ideas or itineraries would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Flgajaja,I see that you are a new condo buyer in Breck. We just got back a week ago from Breck and looked at about 4 condos there and are VERY interested in buying and renting out the condo for extra income. Are you glad you made the decision to buy?Any second thoughts? THANKS !! MJKS

mjks,
Yes, we are thrilled that we bought last summer. We are very fortunate that our condo has it's own on premises rental company and they only do our property and no one elses. they are somewhat strict which is good for us. Good luck with your hunt, if you have any questions, let me know.

A day trip to Leadville is fun - explore the really cool cemetary and take the train ride - especially nice in the fall.
You could also head for one of the hot springs near in the Buena Vista area, or check out Salida - it's an artsy little town and can be fun in the summer.
Glenwood Springs is very nice, good hiking in the area or rafting in Glenwood Canyon.

there are 2 ways to go. 1) through leadville over hwy 91 past copper mtn and climax mine. then straight south through buena vista to salida. this should take approx 2 hours. leadville is 1/2 way. 2) over boreas pass which is about 1 3/4hrs. take rte 9S to 285S and into salida. you could make a circle and see alot of nice country.

We've gone white water rafting all over the west, and I think my favorite is still the Arkansas River, which we took as a tour from nearby Keystone. The scenery is great, and there are Class III rapids in the summer.
One of my favorite hikes in CO is to Hidden Lake, near Glenwood Springs. And I love the hot springs pool there, too. I know many people say it's just a large pool. It is - but the temp is great (for me whose always cold) and I love people-watching there. All sorts of people come to enjoy - and the surrounding scenery is great, too.
