Dana Point to UCI?
Hello,
I'll be in California with my wife from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7. I'll have to go to the University Of California-Irvine for a few days. I'm gonna rent a car.
I'm looking to rent a cottage or a villa for the week (instead of staying in an hotel) and my wife would love to be on the beach. We could have found something at Dana Point but I'm wondering how long would it actually take for me from that rented villa to UCI? I'd do a 20-30 min. drive, but I'm not ready to do a 45-60 min. drive back and forth. Is there lots of traffic on road 261 or 73 from Dana Point to Irvine? What is a realistic driving time betwen DP to UCI?
Also, as I'll land at the Ontario Intl Airport, I'm asking myself the same question for the driving time between Ontario and DP. Mapquest says around 1 hour.
Thanks.

Trust the Mapquest info. Ontario is more time obviously, I agree with the 1 hr.
DP to irvine, I think 45 min is realistic. Traffic can really slow this commute down.
Realistically if you don't want the commute time, find somewhere else to stay...Why DP?

I'll have to pay around $1000-$1100 for 1-week, it's somewhat cheaper than an hotel.
I have to land at Ontario or Long Beach, cause I'm flying with jetBlue. Ontario costs me close to $200 less than Long Beach from Burlington, VT.
