Dallas Airports?

Hi all,

Got a question for any and all frequent flyers in & out of Dallas. I am going for a short one night trip, the hotel is downtown and right near union station. The only problem is that I get in on Sunday and the rail won't be operating. So, is it worth it to fly into love field? I tried to search for "DAL" on expedia or some other travel site, and it only showed DFW. Just want to get my airports straight before buying the nonrefundable tix.

Thanks!!

Southwest is about the only airline that operates out of Love Field; Continental had flights from Houston but these may have been discontinued.

DFW has other transportation options to downtown Dallas: taxi, super shuttle, DART (local bus service).

Always worth flying into Love Field: SWA and Continental still do - I'm leaving DAL for BJX on Con shortly (highly restricted, high fare route).
The "rules" protecting AA @ DFW are about the most anticompetitive anywhere in the world, but... as I still fly best deals in coach for under 3 hour or so flights DAL remains an option.

Oh, Sen KBH's husband brokered many if not all the DFW bonds and they may still hold more than a bunch!

Southwest doesn't sell tickets through Expedia or third party sites. Check southwest.com if you want to fly into Love.

I would definitely choose Love Field since you'll be downtown, esp. if you won't have a car.

Are you staying at the Hyatt? Ask if they have a shuttle to and from DFW.

To me the answer depends on the fare.
Cheap fare to DFW? Go for it!
Cheap fare to Love, even better!

For the airport website check dallas-lovefield.com.
They have links to info about DART bus and rail service

Southwest's website is www.iflyswa.com. They don't sell tickets through any other online site.

It is difficult to take public transportation from Love Field to downtown. Unfortunately, the DART rail doesn't yet go to Love Field. So, your only other option is a bus, and that will involve a transfer. Personally, I'd rather just take a cab or rent a car!

A cab from DFW to downtown will cost about $40-50. A cab from Love Field should be considerably less. But almost all major hotels should have a shuttle.

DART has a Sunday schedule for most of its routes. Check its website to be sure. There are buses from both DFW and Love (no transfers I don't think).
