D.C to Martha's Vineyard?
Does anyone know how long it takes to drive between the 2. A friend says he can make it to Woods Hole in 7 1/2hrs. The AAA guy says allow 10 hrs. Who is right? When I say DC we're actually in Northern VA. right over the MD border. Thanks

On this route, a LOT depends on what time of day you're traveling -- there are several points whre rush-hour traffic can make a big difference. Also, road construction -- it's entirely possible that the AAAs 10-hour estimate factors-in delays that your other sources aren't aware of.

Does AAA's 10 hours include the ferry crossing from Woods Hole to MV? I'd allow almost 10 hours to Woods Hole, especially if ferries are infrequent (winter) or likely to be fully booked (summer). On most trips, a delay of an hour won't matter much, but if you miss a ferry you could face an inconvenient wait for the next one.

Thanks everyone for your response. I wasn't including the ferry crossing. I know depending on traffic it could be more but I think I'm going for closer to 8 hrs than the 10 hr (or should I say hoping it is) when I set out. As for construction etc the AAA man didn't even include this as a factor. Thanks again everyone.
