Long Term Stay - Condo Rental?

So I have been miserable at my job for almost 3 years now and need to make a change. I don't know what I want to do with my life, so was thinking of taking a break and going to relax in Hawaii for a month. I am looking at October. Does anyone have suggestions for a nice condo or house that isn't expensive and within walking distance to everything or close to a bus stop, since I won't be renting a car for all that time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Which island are you thinking of? Assuming you want bus service, you must be looking at Oahu. I believe if you do some research, you will find affordable condos in Oahu. Actually it is generally less expensive than the other islands.

try www.bradleyproperties.com or even www.hicentral.com in the rental section. When you contact these places, they can tell you which properties are close to the bus stop....and I would hope our bus strike is over by then!

The only island where using the bus as a mode of transport makes sense is Oahu. And the bus drivers are on strike right now! So, if you are thinking you want to go to Oahu and use the bus, check the status of the strike before you make any deposits!

I would look on www.vrbo.com - I was able to find a 2 bedroom rental in Waikiki for $1500 a month this past April. You should be able to get something for even less if you only need a one bedroom.
