Crowds will be small to non-existent. January is the slowest month. We went to WDW last January (mid-month) for 4 days, stayed at Grand Floridian. If we waited on line for anything (which was not often), it was 5 minutes or less. We pretty much just walked up to what we wanted to do and got right on.

January 9th is the Disney Marathon. It starts at 6:00am and will be over at 1:00pm. Traffic will be a problem on this day, but all other days should be ideal for visiting the parks. If you are staying near the marathon course, you should watch some of the race and cheer for the runners!

Hi,
January through mid-March are among the BEST times of the year to go to Disney World. Disney has great winter special discounts and virtually no one is there! I've been to Disney World in late February and even got to sit in a rocking chair on the front porch for the parade in Magic Kingdom - I arrived only 10 minutes early, too.
I highly, highly recommend that time of year!
Best Regards,
Julia
