Crested Butte is a beautiful ski resort. You can stay on the mountain at the Sheraton Hotel or in numerous condos. Or you can stay in the town (very small) and use the free shuttle bus (about 5 minute drive). If you are an expert skiier, CB is well known for its extreme terrain. If not, there are still plenty of green and blue runs. Since CB is a destination resort away from Denver's front range, you will not encounter much in crowds or lift lines. Truly, most people that ski CB love it.

We have spent time at alot of ski resorts in Colorado and Crested Butte is one of my favorites. The town is as close to a wonderful laid back ski town as you will ever see, not pretentious like some of the other resorts. The skiing is great and everyone is friendly.

Great ski mountain. Plenty of terrain for all levels of skiers. No lift lines! Wonderful little town with some of my favorite restaurants. If you are going first week of March you'll likely miss all the Spring Break crowds. The only cons I can think of is the difficulty obtaining lodging and ski rental during Spring Break and there isn't much night life.

Pros: no lift lines even during peak times and weekends since it is off the beaten path; unpretentious, friendly, charming western town, GREAT restaurants, and also a great place to visit during the summer.
Cons: NONE

Hey Lucky03

I think that Mike has already skied the area and now has made his own judgements!

Why post against a 2/11/02 question. And..why am I bothering to post myself!!
