Unfortunately, have to wait until the end of January. Can't even count that high! Will be spending a couple of days outside of Honolulu, then two weeks in Maui and one week in Kauai.I can't believe how lucky we are that we'll be spending almost a month in Hawaii during the horrible new york winter.

Susan depending on how small you are I would only suggest this if you need to loose ten pounds. Protein in the morning 2 hard boiled eggs or one 8 oz vanilla yogurt (I stay away from sugar substitutes) coffee plenty of water until lunch, then salad with chicken breast or some lean protein source and whatever else you put in your salads. Plenty of water again until Dinner chicken n broccoli with white sauce don't eat too much of the rice also salmon, tuna and broccoli (or some rich green) on other nights. Walk at least 2 miles 5 nights a week at a fast pace. This has worked for me. Well actually last time I was running but injuries are too easy to occur and I had to stop.
Trick I think might be keeping down carbs fat and adding rich greens, exercise and fish. The exercise will really help you on those hikes. If anything get out and start walking every night. This is what I am asking my travel partners, adults and children to do. You do feel the difference once you were there. Even if you are only chasing after some kid once you are there. You actually catch them.
she says as she just put away a huge olive oiled grilled veg sandwich with fresh mozzarella on ciabatta bread. Hey opera tonight I probably won't eat again. Now just to walk to Lincoln center instead of cabbing it!!!
50 more days Kauai.

Hey, thanks xxx (Ms. Atkins ;-)) I've been doing three miles of fast walking every day and upping the protien, avoiding the carbs. I think at this point kick-boxing is in order! It's that last 10 pounds that stand between me and my old prom dress, may be pointless ... think I might have to cut out the beer for 37 days, ouch!

S'spike,
Eat, drink and be merry! Life is toooo short to worry about it!
I feel like I need a trip to Shanghai Kelly's again.
You REALLY think you can go that long without a beer!?!?!?
hahahaha.
And pleeeeez...don't do a combo cabbage/hard boiled egg diet! Think of the other passengers!
231.5 and counting.

Kal, I've already broken my "no beer" diet ... oh well. I'm not cut out for that kind of discipline! I'm glad to hear you and in a jokester mood, I heard on another thread things have been down at Casa Kal ... hope all is well with you and the missus. Are you seriously considering a trip to Napa/Sonoma this weekend? Good wine is always good for what ail you! Wish I could run marathons like Mrs. Kal, then I could drink all the beer I like.
36 more days! (Some folks on this thread are already there -- lucky dogs!)

Only 8 more days to go. I'm getting more nervous but excited at the same time! I just ordered all these crazy stuff online to accomodate my trip. I probably won't need all of them but if you're going to be in paradise to enjoy yourself, I say we go all out! May all of you have a great trip and unforgettable memories!!! Aloha.
