Alohaaa all,
242!
I just talked to my TA last Friday and she's checking into flights from SMF to Lihue on Hawaiian (thanks for the heads up, Suuuuuz).
While we REALLY loved the non-stop from SFO to LIH we took last year, if we could fly from Sac "International", a 20 min. drive thru the rice fields for us, to Hon then to Lihue, it would be da kine!
Makes for a short ride home after tacking on only an addtl. 30-45 mins to the flight.
Now, if we have to go SMF to LAX or SFO to HON to LIH...
"faggeddabout it"!
I can taste the mai tais/Kona Brew Pale Ale at the Sand Bar already.
Not to mention the garlic buttered crust at BOP on the way back from a picnic sinset at Polihale! Do I smell Coppertone SPF#30+ ???
STOP IT!!!!
Ahhhh...I feel better now.
JOAN-September, right?
CATHY-We keep a very low overhead, save like packrats, work our butts off, use up my birthday (Dec. baby-lucky me), Christmas presents to each other and do not have any kids so we've been pretty lucky so far....Knock on koa wood! ;^D
Can't wait to see what Jay T tinks about the golf courses on K and to see if he's still married!
Now, time to start my countdown to Chicago, New Orleans and....?
Many mahalos,
Kal

Kal,
Gave my DH the choices for a fall getaway to Maui. Either Hawaiian outta SMF and HON or Aloha outta OAK direct. Regardless of the small diff in price when you add $$ the required overnight in OAK due to early am departure he says hands down SMF. That short jaunt home is the clincher.
Maybe 150 days till Maui!

Suuuuz, With the weather we're having here, I'm ready to go NOW!!! Brrrr.
Beachbum, Let me know your thoughts on the comparison w/ Fr. Poly and Kauai. Eveytime we want to plan a trip to Tahiti, Moorea, BBora, we can't get past Hawaii. We were thinking Midway this year but heard they may have shut down the regular airline service to it and would have to turboprop it. No thanks.
