Cotswolds in November

Will be in London in November. Our plan is to take early train to Bath, see Bath and spend night. Next AM will pick up car and head to Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathederal heading to Broadway in Cotswolds to spend the next three nights, hopefully, at The Olive Branch. Day 3 will be spent in Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh. Day 4 will be in Stratford upon Avon and Warwick Castle. We are planning to drop car at Birmingham airport on Day 5 and take the train to Edinburgh from the airport.

Is this workable? Can we drop the car at the airport and get the train?

Please offer suggestions on this schedule and changes that you feel are needed. Thanls for the help.

Hello cheinberg, great title but you will get a much better response if you repost this on the Europe Forum.

Have a beautiful trip!

If you see nothing else in the Cotswolds, go to Bourton On Water. It is the quintessential Cotswold village, right down to a miniature Cotswold village.

p.s. We thought Stonehenge was one of the most overrated places we'd ever seen. Borrrrring!

I agree that visiting Stonehenge is not quite what you might imagine because you can't get very close. I still think it's well worth visiting.

We really enjoyed Salisbury when we visited. We were there in 1982. So obviously, it's been a long time. But our tour of Salisbury Cathedral was one of those "moments" for us.

At that time (and, possibly now) Salisbury Cathedral had people from the parish, retired people I think, give guided tours. I don't know whether they were always individual tours or whether my husband and I just happened to arrive when there weren't any other tourists around. But we had a tour, just the two of us, with a man from Salisbury who told us wonderful stories about the cathedral. Believe me, it was well worth our time!

Ah, so maybe you don't need to go on the Europe Board, LOL.

LoveItaly, I thought about not answering because this wasn't on the proper forum. But as I very rarely go on the Europe forum (because our trip there was so long ago), I couldn't resist putting in my two cents!
