Corning: Good Base for Lower Finger Lakes?
We'll be spending a few days in the region and hope to visit The Glass Museum, the grave of Mark Twain, the soaring center and perhaps Cornell and Watkins Glen. Would Corning make a good central base? And hotel recommendations?
Appreciate any assistance.

We stayed in the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel and enjoyed our location and the hotel. The one thing I loved was the rooms have hardwood floors which is so much better than stained carpet. The one thing I hated was they did not have coffee in the rooms. They have coffee in the lobby/dining area but I had to go downstairs in my jammies to get it. This was a few years ago, it may have changed.

I spent a week traveling around that area and really liked the Radisson in Corning. It is well located within walking distance of much of Corning sites and quite lovely.
