There are reviews on Venere.com and supposedly, you have to book through them to be able to post a review.

I stayed here about 3 or 4 years ago and found it to be a very comfortable hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed and the bathroom had lots of Marble. In addition, the location is great. You can walk to to almost everything except the Vatacan. Another bonus is that most of the rooms face a side street and so are fairly quiet. My only complaint it that the room we had was small. There are other good reviews on TripAdvisor (some as recent as last month). Plug Barberini Hotel into the search engine on Trip Advisor and you will find it. BTW I booked a special through Expdia and got a pretty good deal.

I never stayed there, but have walked past it and think it's in a good location.

We stayed just down the street from it, at the Hotel Julia last May. We stopped in to see the Hotel Barberini, because it looked attractive. The lobby is pretty and looked very well-kept. We didn't look at a room. Good location, just next to the Barberini Palace and a couple of blocks from the top of the Spanish Steps.

We stayed at Hotel Barberini last month - having previously stayed there a few years before. We like the hotel - the internet weekend rate is great for hotels of its class. Very nice room - we were actually upgraded for no apparent reason to a lovely suite. The bathrooms are well-appointed, too. I would recommend this hotel having stayed there twice. Our favorite is Albergo del Senato but its price range is much, much higher. The Barberini was within walking distance of del Corso, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi fountain, etc. Hope this helps...

We stayed there in October 2003. The best thing about this place was the location--you're near everything; the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps. The bathrooms were large for Rome standards, and seemed recently redone. The room was small, but they made the best use of the space. The breakfast that was included was good--large selection of pastries, hot foods, and cold cuts and cheeses. Be forewarned: the walls (at least in 2003) were paper thin. Thankfully, it wasn't really an issue for us since we did not have noisy neighbors, but you could literally hear the conversation of the room next door.

The location of Albergo del Senato is perfect - having a room with a balcony overlooking the Pantheon & the piazza is wonderful. We've stayed in each hotel twice (4 different trips) and, again, our budget each time dictated which one we chose.
