Pay a visit to the USS North Carolina, restored WWII battleship. Also, Wrightsville Beach, esp toward the north end is great!

Grab a bite to eat at Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn at 4002 Oleander Drive in Wilmington. It's great food, economical, and a welcome change from the usual chains.

I should have asked: Which Wilmington? North Carolina or Delaware?

Oops--I didn't read the title carefully. Blame my cataracts.

Drive down to Kure Beach and visit the NC Aquarium. Then, take the ferry to Southport and enjoy the small town. Drive back to Wilmington.

I took my children on the horse and carriage ride here and the guide was very knowledgable of the area,... and there are quite a few celebrities that live there and they pointed out their homes!! Apparently many movies and tv shows have been filmed here as well.
It was fun to walk along the water and look at the boats.

There is a great jeweler here. I posted her shop name here a few years ago. GREAT pieces and not over the top price wise. If you are interested do a search on here.

Flaming Amy's is yummy!

If you're driving to Southport, you can take the ferry to Bald Head Island. No cars - you get around on bikes or golf carts.

The aquarium is good for smaller children, but probably not great for teens.

If your kids want to take a surfing lesson, visit http://wbsurfcamp.com/ for a private lesson.

You can rent kayaks (try Salt Marsh Kayak Company http://www.saltmarshkayak.com) and go for a tour.

We have lots of great restaurants if you'll let us know what you're looking for.
