Cool shopping in DelRay or West Palm Beach
Hi all,
I am going to Florida this weekend on a lastminute trip to visit with family.
I will have some time with my mom - who has been "wintering" in Florida, and I havent seen in months.
We love shopping! But not neccesarily clothes/gifts/etc. We love furniture, antiques, classy knick-knacks, interior design, fabric, fine art, paintings, etc. And we love bargains of course! We are looking for shops (or an area of shops) that are interesting, with maybe some recommendations for a great lunch!
Anyone have some good recommendations for any places to visit in either DelRay, West Palm or the surrounding areas??

Hi,
Delray Beach is a really great little town. From I-95 you exit on Atlantic Avenue and head east, toward the water. It has a lot of great shops including an Antique mall; they're renovating the 2nd floor, but there's still a lot to see on the first. My mom loves this area.
For lunch in Delray, there's the Sundy house (I'd call for reservations) that's set in a tropical garden, the Lemongrass Bistro for fusion Asian, and I like Busch's a lot, where you can sit on an outside covered deck on the intercoastal. If the weather is nice, it makes for a very pleasant lunch. If you like ice cream, you have to try Foxy's. They have the BEST. Plus the place is named after their pomeranian who is just the cutest thing.
The weather here has been really great, and I think we're expecting more of the same this weekend; low 80's and lower humidity than we usually get; so you should be in for a great weekend. Hope you enjoy it!

As Beth1096 said, Atlantic Ave. in Delray is fun (and I'll add Old Calypso for great brunch/lunch menu-deck right on the intracoastal, and Boston's On the Beach for New England seafood and Fenway Park ambiance). West Palm Beach has City Place for interesting shopping, and there is the ultimate upscale venue, Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. In Boca Raton go to Mizner Park, with shops, restaurants, movies.

Im so excited to hear about the good weather. Im in CT, so a little sunshine will be a welcome break from murky March.
I think the Antiques Mall sounds great...is it in DelRay Beach? Consignment Shop sounds cool too - do they have furniture there or just clothes?
Great tips! Keep them coming!
