Convertible Rental at Boston Logan

Am astounded that the rental car companies don't offer convertibles at Logan. We are flying into Logan in July and driving to Maine, and thought it would be nice to have a convertible but the only company I could find that rents them is Exotic car or something like that and the rate is astronomical.

Maybe your problem is the one way rental? My experience has been that you can't get a convertible for one way rentals from most companies, but must return to pickup point.

It may also be too far in advance for a specific car like that.

I'm not surprised - since a convertible would be a major detriment in that area for at least half the year. Agencies in many parts of the country don;t carry convertibles for just that reason - they're really only fairly common in Florida, Southern California and Hawaii.

I rent all the time in Boston and can't remember ever seeing a convertible out in the parking lot of Thrifty.

It's not a one way rental. We're driving back to Boston. I guess I didn't think about a convertible being detrimental for most of the year. We're in AZ and have two convertibles. And have rented them in CA, FL and HI and didn't even think about other places not offering them. Oh well, I suppose we could just buy a convertible when we arrive, and sell it a week later. (Kidding).

It can still be very chilly in late May or early June in New England. Also starting October. So, a convertible is only semi-useful for about 4 months, at the most. During the day when the sun is shining bright.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the thread title made me laugh out loud.
