Connecting at MSP
We have a tight connection at MSP on Friday morning. We are flying from IND on a Delta Connections RJ. We have 45 minutes until our Delta flight to Anchorage leaves. Can anybody tell me if the Delta gates are close to each other at MSP?
Thanks for any help anybody can provide.

Delta is the major player at MSP (over 1/2 of the flights, I believe) and has LOTS of gates. So, some are close and some are not.
You could try checking tomorrow to see what gates those flights use--but it may not be the same on Friday.

I could be wrong, but as I recall the regional flights, which the flight from IND might be, are all bunched together, so it might be a bit of a jog to the gate for the Alaska flight. Plus, what Abram said.
Good luck! If the flight from IND is on time you'll be fine.

Thanks for the information. I will check at the airport Friday morning and see if they can tell me what gate we will arrive at and where the departure is. Although, I realize these can change at any time. Hopefully there won't be any delays.

I am guesing you might be coming into the F Concourse (unless you are on a small commuter jet) and you possibly will e flying out of the G Concourse. There is a cut across from the F Concourse to the G Concourse right before the F concourse goes up a small incline into the main terminal and it will take you more directly to the G concourse. The G concourse is quite long but does have a moving ramp and we have made it to the end quite quickly. You could possibly be leaving from the very front of the concourse also which would be great. There is food available along each concourse so you can get some quick food if yu are hungry, Good luck. If you come into the C,D E Concourse will most likely have a longer trek to the plane. MSP has carts roaming around that you can take to get you to ay gate. Good luck. MSP is still my very favorite airport and not to difficult to navigate.

Use flight tracker or one of the other apps sites to check to see the gates being used today for your flights. The actually gates will change but not the general location. Check for three or four days and you should see a pattern of gates being used.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I've been checking tonight and can't find any information on the gates the flights used today. Hopefully I can find this out tomorrow. That would definitely be a big help in planning.

I learned today that our flight arrived at gate C-4 and the Anchorage flight left from gate F-7. Assuming those same gates are used Friday, it doesn't appear too far looking at the map of MSP, but sometimes looks are deceiving. Those who know MSP, does 45 minutes allow us the time we need to connect (hopefully allowing a bathroom stop)?
Thanks for your help.

Fortunately C4 is near the main terminal and F7 will be near the front section of the F terminal but you do have some ways to go and I think I would try to get one of the electric carts to take you between the gates. You do have to go through most of the main terminal to reach F when coming from C but it isn't terrible. Delta usually has agents waiting as you exit from the plane to tell you which gate you must get to but often the flight attendants have the information and announce it right before arrival. Good luck!!
