Comment on Lodings in Seattle Washington
Hi Gang,
I will be going to Seattle in a couple of months and have narrowed down to 4 the hotels I am considering. Any comments, reviews or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here are the 4.
Inn at the Market
Inn at Harbor Steps
Wall Street Inn
Warwick
Thanks
Brie

Inn at the Market is my all time favorite EXCEPT the rooms are small and now have gone way past my price range. It can be noisy because
it is in the middle of Pikes Market but for people who like the market that can be a good thing.
My husband's favorite is Edgewater Inn. Of course its prices have gone up since they remodeled--gas fireplaces , at least in all the water view rooms. It a few blocks north (Pier 60 something) near the cruise ship pier and next door to the passenger ferry that goes to Victoria.
We really like Seattle and since the rates of places we like to stay went up over $ 200 we went up in Feb.
Usuallyfrom Jan to March or April 15th, a lot Seattle hotels go 1/2 price. (not sure if Inn At Market did)
We stayed at Edgewater for 4 nights
$ 109 It was wonderful )except for the restaurant. They changed menu--it was very "modern". I am sure very popular with some just not our cup of tea..
Have heard good things about Inn at the Harbor Steps-friend said it we like a luxury Bed and Breakfast but no great "views"--but also very expensive $ over 250.
I also liked the Mayflower (downtown and is one the historic hotel list) nice rooms, good restaurant, good service and in same building as 3 level shopping mall with access to the metro system in the basement.
Dont know anything about the other two places except we did stay at the Warwick in NYC and were very pleased.
Good luck and take your umbrella!!

If "a couple of months" means late October or November, I'd pick the place that is closest to where you plan to visit. The Inn at the Market is very nice, Harbor Steps nice but very pricey, Edgewater okay in the summer but a bit bleak in the winter, Wall St. Inn new but located some distance from many attractions. The Warwick would be my pick - an excellent small hotel very conveniently located to the Market, shopping, monorail to Seattle Center, and within the free bus zone for jaunts to other parts of downtown without having to brave the elements.

I agree with John. The Seattle Convention and Visitor's Bureau also promotes special hotel rates during winter months. Contact them at [email protected] to learn when those special rates go into effect.

I just stayed at the W hotel and the Grand Hyatt in Seattle and would highly recommend either. Preferred the W because their soundproofing was fabulous. Didn't hear street noise at all. The Grand Hyatt was great as well. Pretty rooms, everything's new. Walked everywhere from both locations.
The Inn at the Market seemed a bit too "in-the-thick" of things to me. Right by Pike Street Market where there were tons of people and cars (hence noise!) all the time.
