Chuys for mexican, Good Company for barbeque

It took until the last post for someone not be an idiot. I second Chuys and Good Company. Churrascos is fantastic as well.

Fogo de Chao, great food and unique atmosphere. not inexpensive but worth it.

Goode Company on Kirby

Here's another idea.
Buca Di Beppo. Decent italian, group friendly, fun atmosphere.
Goode Co, Ninfa's, Dave & Buster's or Jillian's, Pappa's & Chuy's all good choices for family fun.

I suggest The Potato Patch on FM 1960. It is fun because while you wait to order & get your food, servers come around & give you free food like fried green tomatoes, muffins & rolls. They will call out "Que Paso" & gently toss you a roll. It is fun & kids love it. It has a decent restaurant look but the service makes it fun.

We will be over that way in Oct for the Renaissance Fest & will be sure to stop in.

If Kids are young (under 6) try Lupe Tortilla.

Emily: Chuy's on Westheimer is a fun, fairly inexpensive Mexican restaurant that has very high quality food. Another good restaurant that serves good food for adults and is kid-friendly is the Raven Grill on Bissonnet. (I don't know if you would call it "fun", but it will have food that both adults and kids will enjoy.
