Colorado to New Mexico

We have a trip planned for Sept 23 to Oct 1st. We stay overnight in Denver,Estes Park , then we thought to head out to Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos. We have a railroad trip scheduled on the Cumbres & Toltec for Friday Sept 27th. We have to be back in Denver on Oct 1st to fly back. Should we skip going to any of these places. We did paln on stopping at a few places in Colorado to spend some time also. Frisco was one. Buena Vista was another. any suggestions and recommendations would be helpful. We are not going to be hiking, biking, or kayaking. Just seeing the sights. and beauty.

This may or may not help you, but a couple of trip reports covering similar ground:

Eating our way through Northern New Mexico

Rocky Mountain High...king

I just noticed that this is posted in the wrong forum! Suggest you ask the powers-that-be to move it into the US forum.

I’d drop Albuquerque, in favor of Santa Fe and Taos.

Estes and Frisco are wild cards. Why?

Buena Vista is at least south of Denver, and would be do-able.

Do you prefer to be road-tripping everyday, or do you want to stay a few nights in a place?
