Colorado Springs Activities?

What else is recommended to do in the Colorado Springs area besides Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak?

Seven Falls ? Have not been there for years but it still seems to be popular. How about Cheyenne Mt. Manitou Springs might be interesting for a look around. Again it's been a while since I've visited any of these sights.

Cave of the Winds is nice. There is also the Manitou Cliff Dwelling museum and the Cog Railway up to Pikes Peak.

Do you have children? The slide & play area at Focus on the Family is great - and free, which is always a bonus. There is also an old fashioned amusement park called Santas Workshop. Joyrides has some rides, mini-golf, and go carts. Summer also offers the Uncle Wilber Fountain in Acacia Park, downtown. We have a zoo - but its in the foothills and I think lowlanders might lay on the ground clutching their chests, gasping for air if they tried to walk it.

We have an IMAX. There is the Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame.

The Olympic Training Center is also free. There is a Pioneer museum downtown.

The newspaper website is gazette.com that has an entertainment section. coloradoprings.com also lists attractions.

You are within easy driving distance of Castlewood Canyon(hiking). It's north of Colorado Springs on Hwy. 83. Helen Hunt falls on the west side of Colorado Springs is pretty and offers a nice hike.

Canyon City isn't far and has the Royal Gorge and a Prison Museum.

We have some weird stuff too...the May Natural history museum offers an extensive selection of bugs.

Denver is about an hour north.
