Anybody eaten at the new Cittarella Restaurant near Rockefeller Ctr?

I had lunch there last week. Everyone in our group was extremely impressed. The food was excellent. Save room for dessert !!!

I remember having fish, I think it was Seabass. It was excellent. The vanilla cake dessert was a great alternative to chocolate cake, and was delicious !!!

Ate there a few weeks ago, and would go again only if it was on someone else's dollar. Don't get me wrong--the food was quite good, just not worth the money.

You could do better elsewhere.

Gab, which fish restaurant(s) in NYC would you recommend instead?

I'm not Gab, but I'd recommend Docks, on Third Avenue and 40th Street. Big, noisy, attractive restaurant with excellant seafood. Always busy so make reservations. They also have a branch on Broadway and 89th Street on the Upper Westside.

I like Docks too, especially since it's in my neighborhood (west side one). Or you can go French seafood with Le Bernardin or Italian with Esca. But my latest favorite is Mary's Fish Camp in the West Village - it's small, very casual and I loved everything I ate. There's another place in the Village supposedly equally good or better - Pearl Oyster Bar. Apparently "Mary" used to be at Pearl but left to open her own place...
