Christmas with relatives or leisure travel?

Christmas is a three day weekend this year. We have two choices:

OPTION 1: Spending the HOLIDAY with the relatives. Open gifts, comversation, etc.

OPTION 2: A trip to a resort in the tropics. Swimming, sunning, gambling, etc.

Which would you prefer?

Do I get to pick and choose if any of the relatives come with me to tropics?

And will someone else deliver the message that I am running away from them at the holidays.

How about both? I'm going to visit my parents down in Florida

Personally I think I'd rather vacation over Thanksgiving and spend Christmas with family. Feasting on turkey then sitting around all bloated for a day - then fighting the shopping crowds the following day - is not for me!

Family, always family. I lost my brother when he was 37, and I'd give up every vacation I ever took for one more day with him.

I'm also doing both. My sister and I are going to visit my nephew and his family in Florida. We are NOT staying at their house, which is where the leisure travel comes in. We will spend time with them and time by our hotel pool (weather permitting). The best of both worlds.

I've done both over the years. But I would not bother with a tropical resort vacation if you have only 3 days to spend. Way too short a time for the expense involved IMO.

I'd rather send my love ones on the tropical location (out of my hair) and spend my holiday quietly at home with Mr. GoTravel.

If I had my choice we would all be together, all the family (well except maybe forget one or two) quot;>

Merry Christmas everyone, regardless of where you go or who you are with.

No contest. FAMILY

OPTION #1 and every other number.

Not only do I love my immense family but I like them too.
