Christmas in Myrtle Beach?

Looking for a quiet place for a Christmas getaway and would appreciate your thoughts on Myrtle Beach. I know it's crazy in the summer and definitely not our kind of place then. We are a retired couple looking for a nice hotel/resort ($150/range) and good restaurants, including something that will be open on Christmas day. Thanks for your help.

Hi Cameron,

I just topped a post for you titled Thanksgiving Dinner in Myrtle Beach. Cook or go out??

We always go to North Myrtle to a little place we have there. You might want to check out bluegreenrentals.com
When you pull up South Carolina go to Shorecrest Vacation rentals. You may want to call them direct for a AAA or AARP discount. If my memory serves me correctly an oceanfront 2 br condo is only $99/night and you get 10% off for AAA or AARP.

Fairfield has just opened a new place in North Myrtle and there's lots of other places in Windy Hill, Crescent, Cherry Grove, etc.

We love Myrtle. Have fun!

Thanks for your suggestions! I will check them out. Is there a difference, other than location, between north and south MB?

If I remember correctly, North MB, is the nicer section of MB. It tends to be, or it did many many years ago, a bit quieter than the South side.

There is nothing there & most everything is shut down. Go a little farther south to Charleston, Savannah or Amelia Island. Actually the later may be your best bet if searching for a resort.
