Christie P... I need Grapevine area help

Hey there... I have 10 people that are coming in from all over and I need to find a GREAT non-chain place to take them for dinner.
Needs to be within 15 miles of Southlake.
No Pappa's. Do you think the Railhead is any good? It's been years since I have been.
Thanks!!!
Laura

Wouldn't it make more sense to go to the published websites and data bases that review restaurants?

Guidelive.com will list restaurants within the area and give an opinion of their relative quality. The Mobil Travel Guide website will give you a lot of info. The Dallas Observer is a good source. D Magazine will give you some info, as will the Texas Chowhound and dallasfood.org.

Hi Laura,
I'm glad to help!! And, I'm a lot more personable than some anonymous guide book... ;-)

Abuelos and La Hacienda Ranch are both chains, unfortunately. LaHa is a local chain, though, so it's not something that you'll find nationwide. They have wonderful steaks and good Mexican food. There is a location at 121 and Glade Road that is a LOT closer and easier to get to from Southlake than the Lewisville one. If you call ahead, they have several small private rooms, and they can definitely set one of them aside for your group.

We actually don't have any Pappas places in our area yet, amazingly enough!

I haven't been to Railhead in a long time, but it is good BBQ.

Something else to think of is Boi Na Braza, the Brazilian steakhouse also on 121 near Glade. It's a lot of fun, and the good is very good. (It's kinda pricey, though, about $50 per person.)

Thanks for the suggestions!
Unless something better comes up, I think La Hacienda Ranch is the place.
They don't have HR in Denver, Boston or Omaha so it will be something new to the attendees.
I thought about the Gaylord but worry that it may be too expensive.
Let me know if you think of anything else.
Cheers
