Vallejo, CA restaurant help

Short notice, but This Friday, Jul 11, I'll be looking for a place to eat after spending the day in Marine World. Any locals out there who know a good (family) restaurant or buffet?

Can't believe there's a question about my local area on Fodor's, but I'm happy to share the local restaurant information!

The area near Marine World offers a bunch of restaurant options. Just across the hwy (I-80) is a large commercial area. There's Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Applebee's, Chevy's, Stuart Anderson's Black Angus, and Pasta Pomodoro. I am assuming you are familiar with these chain restaurants (all are sit-down and family friendly). Depending on the time you arrive on Friday, you should expect a wait. Also in the same area are fast food options like Wendys and Rubios.

Post again if you are unfamiliar with the chains listed and need more info or need directions.

It looks like it may be triple digits on Friday here, so come prepared for heat!

Not sure if it's still there, but there used to be an excellent Mongolian BBQ spot right across the freeway from Marine World in that strip mall. I'm searchng for the dead brain cells that contain the name of it...

I believe that's still there. Princess Garden is the name. That's a little bit west of the commercial area that I had outlined, but in the same general area.

DeeDee,

Glad to know that place is still there. I left Vallejo in '88 and would love to come back through and see how it's changed. Wish I still had my house up off Columbus Parkway...

og719,

You'd be astonished to see the changes to the eastside of Vallejo now. The entire hill between I-80 and Blue Rock Springs Park is now full of tract homes.

The area off Admiral Callahan Lane surrounding the old Save Mart store has changed completely. Save Mart couldn't make a go of it and left some time ago. There were many vacant stores at that time. No longer...the area is bustling with new business. It's really great for Vallejo!
