Chicago/Wrigleyville hotels
We will be attending a Cubs game in July. Found the Majestic hotel on West Brompton, we want to stay within walking distance. Any feedback or a better idea? It will only be for one night so it does not have to be the "best". Thanks!

Do a search for wrigleyville hotel- there was a post in December w/ same question.
It's easy to hop on the L-train from downtown. There's really not that much near wrigley.
Ya coulda stayed at my house a couple years ago (w/in 2 blocks), but we moved to the burbs. Sorry!

Call information and get a listng for "The Willows" on Surf Street. It's a boutigue hotel in a great neighborhood, walkable area, restaurants, etc. about 6 blocks just due south of Wrigley. You could easily walk, take a bus or a cheap cab ride.

the best western hawthorne terrace is really close and walking distance to the park.
3434 n. broadway 773-244-3434
it's located in what is called "boys town" and if you aren't homophobic or anything, it's a great neighborhood with lots of good restaurants in the area. do not rent a car - parking's horrible in this neighborhood!

While the wrigley area is very nice, don't commit yourself to the area simply because you are going to the ball game. Part of the Cubs experience is being crammed into a subway car traveling to the game. The city suites is also in the area not sure if it is walking distance.

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Chicago about a year ago and it was fabulous! Its a small boutique hotel with really great rooms. Its not right on Michigan avenue but not too far away. Do a search for Hotel Monaco if you are interested.
Thanks!

I'm sorry! Actually I just realized where Wrigley Field is (never been to a game) and the Hotel Monaco would definitely be too far from the field. I would recommend a search (expedia, travelocity, etc) for hotels around Wrigley Field. Good luck!

agree, the city suites is also close, walking distance, perhaps a bit noisier location than the hawthorne suites (still the closest hotel to the park). it's also next door to ann sather's a great place for breakfast and to get their sinfully good cinnamon buns!
