Chicago Lincoln Park restaurants

I'm going to be in the Lincoln Park neighborhood for a few days. Any great restaurants that I should try to check out?

Alinea was rated # 1 restaurant in the US recently. Exceptionally creative chef in Grant Achatz, great food. Expensive and probably little chance you can get a reservation this late unless there's a cancellation, but worth a phone call to check. http://www.alinea-restaurant.com/

To give you an idea of what it's about here's a video of Grant creating a chocolate dessert on the table top ... http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=dh_9...eature=related

Charlie Trotter's is usually highly ranked in the US ratings and is about 1/2 mile from Alinea. Maybe easier to get in there ... http://www.charlietrotters.com/

Completely depends on what you are looking for. Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder is a Chicago classic - extremely casual and has been there since the early 70's.

Terragusto is an excellent Italian restaurant. Geja's has fondue and is popular.

Have a fun time in Lincoln Park!

What type of food are you looking for? What's your price range? Where are you staying? Lincoln Park is a large neighborhood.

Maybe try www.chowhound.com for more feedback, there's a very active Chicago following ... here's a typical post on the Lincoln Park area: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/721442

I think Cafe Ba Ba Reba is in Lincoln Park. Their bacon-wrapped tapas are my favorite! http://www.cafebabareeba.com/chicago

Correction to above - the bacon wrapped dates, which are tapas. Yum.

I second Cafe BaBaReba. We just happened to walk by when we were hungry and decided to go inside. Great tapas and very generous portions. Good sangria too. Very reasonable prices and a very authentic atmosphere.
