chicago hotels

I'm trying to decide between the Omni Hotel on Mich. Ave. and the Holiday Inn city Centre. Does anyone have advice?

Omni is well located, the Holiday Inn is not. [to put it mildly] The Omni is also a suite hotel so if the price is close enough grab the Omni.

Oh no, are you serious? I just reserved three nights at the Holiday Inn City Center. It says its within walking distance to major tourist attractions, and the map seems to verify this. Can you please tell me why you don't think its a good choice? The rate was a little better than the rest, and we're also in their Priority Club, which adds up fast.

TIA

Suzie-
The Holiday Inn is a fine location. It is closer to Navy Pier, for example, than the Omni is. The Omni is right in the heart of Michigan Avenue shopping, but that makes the area horrendously crowded at times. You will be right next to the McClurg Court Apartments (condos). Ask any native if that isn't a perfectly good place to live. See
p://www.chicago.il.org/HOTELS_MICHIGANAVE.HTM
for a good map.

I stand corrected
The one I was thinking of is the Holiday Inn & Suites between I-290 and the bus station just outside the loop. The address of the city centre one is very convenient -- and the location between Navy Pier and Mich. Ave. is a bonus.

The best prices with great locations is on Priceline. We stay in chicago for a weekend every couple of months and have always been pleased with the price and location. Try www.biddingfortravel.com
to see what most people are paying and where they are placed. You choose the area of city and quality of hotel. You can't cancel so read the directions carefully.
