Chicago Hotel - Omni or Amalfi??
Hi all,
When I started looking into Chicago for our trip I posted a similar question here a while back but now we're under a week away from our trip and I need to make a decision on whivh hotel we should 'keep'.
I have 3 bookings
1. Amalfi at $119 + taxes
2. Omni $129 + taxes, includes $25 breakfast coupon in the rate
3. Marriott Downtown Millenium at $109 + taxes
I'm inclined to go with either the Amalfi or the Omni but which is the nicest / best hotel? Which has the nicest rooms???
I just cannot seem to make a decision on this so all advice appreciated!!!

They are both nice.
I love to be on the River myself. And so LOVE the Omni.
If it is warm weather time and you have such river/walk area access as the Omni that time of year- I would probably take that one.
My one friend goes each Dec. to shop and Omni is her absolute first choice.
I think Amalfi is probably more personal- smaller.
Look at their websites and you will probably see the room styles/figurations.

There was another on the river. You're right, as I think it is the Renaissance now. I still think of it as the Omni. Sorry for the confusion.
In cold weather the river location doesn't matter anyway. Better to be on Huron then.

I stayed in the Amalfi two years ago and loved it. Very trendy and a nicer staff than most "trendy" hotels seem to offer. Still, I'd go for the Omni based on the rate info you provided. It's one of Chicago's best locations and is a great hotel.

Help...my lovely husband just told me we are flying to Chicago from Pittsburgh for the weekend to celebrate our anniversay...staying at Amalfi...I have 3 college kids at home and 2 high schoolers...I am panicked about packing and getting the family stuff in order to leave...What should I pack to wear? Thanks to anyone who can help.

- if anyone has stayed in the Amalfi, what do you think??
