Chicago...Homewood Suites on 40 East Grand
Hi...We have booked the Homewood Suites on 40 East Grand and it appears to be centralized to the Hancock, Mag, Sears Tower, Milennium and Grant Parks, and a free shuttle to Navy Pier. Also, a full breakfast is a nice immenity also. Is anyone familiar with this hotel and the location. I hope it is what we are expecting.

The location is great, and all reviews I've read for the hotel is that it's a perfectly fine option. It's no Four Seasons, but I imagine you weren't expecting that from a Homewood Suites anyway.
You can read reviews at www.tripadvisor.com and it may have been discussed on this site before - a search will tell you.

We stayed there last summer and loved the space and quiet. The location is great for sightseeing, and there is an excellent supermarket a block away.
Many good restaurants in the area. Our favorite was Vong (especially at lunch).
The hotel also serves a supper Monday-Thursday, but we didn't partake.
The only flaw we recall is an overworked elevator that is confusing to use.

It's a good location, a short distance to Red Line El trains in addition to what you've mentioned. Just wanted to point out that Grand runs UNDER Michigan Avenue as you go east; it can be a little confusing for a visitor.

Thanks...
I am assuming we use Ohio or Marriott's escalators from Grand to get to Michigan Avenue, correct?
Is the Red Lines at Grand/State? We using the train to come from O'hare to East Grand Street.

Yep, the red line stop is at Grand and State. You can see a transit map at www.transitchicago.com for info on other stops.
