Looks like I will be making the reservations this week for 15, and that includes Kristi.

If 10 or 16 show, what difference will it make at Cafe Iberico. Little I think because of the way the place is set up.

I will ask for a small room, if that is possible. Swalter518 mentioned it might be once.

Believe it or not, I will be coming with a suitcase in most probability- because it will be at the end of a 3 day downtown trip for me.

Happy times and a great pre-Christmas shopping / theatre trip with a good GTG at the end. My early Christmas present to ME. Ha-Ha!

Good, I am very non-worrying about this sort of thing. We might be 20, and I hope so. The more, the merrier.

I will post final details on a thread toward the end of this week or early next week.

December 10- it will be SUCH fun!

Count me in! Iberico is not super busy on Saturday afternoon so no worries with the reservations. They usually put us up near where they sell the meat and cheeses, not a private room but away from the rest of the diners.

Oh no! Amy is coming to the GTG??? The Trip Nazi. Now she'll be telling untruths about the rest of the members of the TN Trio of Terror! Don't believe her. She looks innocent but she lies, she lies....

Listen up everybody!

I'll post this on a new thread soon but here are some druthers.

We are 20 if everyone comes.

For 20 we can get a good package deal that really expands the tapas made for us.

We can get a deal with 2 drinks for about $22 each, but would have to pay for the number missing if 20 don't show.

I still think it will be worth it.

There are cheaper deals, but I think everyone will have at least 2 drinks, even if they are pop or coffee.

It's reasonable but we would have to be "on time" too.

What do you say? After tip etc. it will probably be close to $30 each. Or would you just want to order individually?

Think about it and post. I think you will see we could get a variety, variety, variety of dishes the party package way.

30 bucks seems reasonable to me. I have one request though. If you, JJ5, or anyone else is going to be pre-ordering the tapas, could we have one of the dishes be vegetarian friendly, please? I'm not fussy and am not looking for a whole lot, but one eatable dish would be good.

Thanks for doing this.

By two drinks, do they mean alcoholic drinks, or just soft drinks? I think the real deal with Sangria is by the pitcher.

Although I don't have a really strong feeling either way, I think I would prefer to play it by ear - you could easily pay less than $30 at C.I. or more, depending upon how much you eat or drink. That way, everyone can order what they want and no one gets stuck paying for any no-shows.

But, I'm flexible.

JJ5- One question - what is the variety of tapas that we could get from the package (are they off-menu)?

We could play it by ear just as easily but I'm just thinking outloud.

See the listing for special packages and the different levels at:

www.cafeiberico.com

We wouldn't have to decide until we got there and counted our number, is my thought. I just have a feeling that we will just around 20, but you never know.

My concern in committing now is that I just found out my goddaughter's birthday party is the same day and I don't know what time it is yet. I may have to be late or leave early, not that I can have any sangria right now anyway !

We will just play it by ear. I usually like to do that better anyway as we might even be less than 20. It is winter after all.

But don't the little tasties look GOOD!

I sure hope I see you, swalter518.

We've done about 5 or 6 group meetings here and we usually end up at about $15 per head, some people drink, some people don't and it's afternoon so people won't drink as much.

Another thought is that my experience is that about 2/3 of the total number of people show up to things like this, last minute things pop up, etc.

That's exactly what I think too, Kristi.

But everyone, do try to make it. And I'll tell them we are coming.
