jj5,

Put me down as a maybe. I'll be in town from Nashville on that weekend and will try to get away from my non Fodor companions.

Cafe Iberico does have a party room too if we have enough people, and will take reservations for more than 6. See www.cafe-iberico.com.

Great! Lets make it a possitive Cafe Iberico then. Maybe at 12:30!

I was going to look up the website a few days ago and see what times/options were available but didn't. I decided to wait and see if we would get much larger.

I have 9 already for sure and some maybe's- so regardless we will have our GTG at Cafe Iberico!

I've been to Emilio's but never Iberico and I am GREATLY looking forward to it.
My guy may come along and he is downtown resistant. But I bet he would love all the ladies. Mr go- he is great fun! He loved Italy and wants to go back.

The more the merrier! Although my husband won't be there..he thinks we're a crazy cult (but never complains about all the places and tips I get off the boards on our trips!)

I'll be there regardless of weather. Although I bet we have good weather sun on us.

I'll put this to the top next month and also on Europe.

If we are a crazy cult, Ken will fit right in. Just to get him to dress!!! Oh yes, it will be winter so he will have to wear long pants. LOL!

He's used to running ski trips for more crazies than you've ever seen. And he can fix anything as well. A great man to have on the scene all around.

We have 8 who say "yes" and 1 maybe.

Dec. 10 - 12:30pm aprox. Cafe Iberico

FYI- I have done searches for room on weekdays Dec. 8-10 or over the weekend Dec. 10-11 for just fun, Xmas windows, shopping, shows etc. And the results have been fabulous, especially in the Loop designated area. Priceline and Hotwire are very friendly for this right now.

Just thought I would pass this on.

I just bid on Priceline and got the Hotel Allegro for two nights before the GTG gathering to go Xmas shopping and to see theatre. The price accepted was $76 per night.

If you bid on Priceline or do Hotwire- the hotel rooms in Loop, N.Michigan Ave. and River are all running GREAT right now for the GTG or any December events.

Hair Spray will be playing right downstairs from where I'll be staying.

You're on the list!

Check the board within the three days preceeding Thanksgiving. Final count and all will be then.

Don't know if my guy will be there either. He may be on a ski trip. I think I might go to HairSpray too and make it a LOOOONG weekend.

JJ5, Just to pipe in, I won't be there since I live in Buffalo, but I visited Chicago last weekend and had a great time. I see that you are considering the Hotel Allegro, which is where we stayed. At $76 a room, I can absolutely recommend this hotel. Maybe it's not a 4 star hotel, but we found it to be a great place to stay, very clean, with very good service. I'm known to be a very picky person, and I thought it was a great place to stay.

Thanks for the good word. I won the bid on Priceline this week so that I could do a little Christmas shopping and fun without haven't to spend 1/2 the day coming up and back. My train ride takes an hour plus it's LaSalle St. Station. I've been at the Cadillac Palace before but haven't been at any hotel in this section of the Loop- plus it's perfect for the kind of stay I'll be doing.

I'm also looking forward to some of the perks- like the 5 to 6 pm wine reception. The price sure is nice at $76. I'm pretty sure Hotwire has it for $94 to $110 as well, which is cheaper than the rack rate. By late Saturday afternoon I'll be ready to train back home after the GTG. If I purchase anything of size, I'll ship it. I think I'll do HairSpray on the evening of the 8th. I actually like downtown better during the weekdays. And a couple of days off at the end of finals week, will be greatly appreciated. Glad to hear that the Hotel Allegro is nice. I'm usually not keen on the huge hotels anyway- that's what I've gotten on the last two bids and visits.

You are counted in, aschie30. AND WELCOME!

I am so looking forward to meeting all of you.

I'm thinking about swalter518 today a lot for some reason, she is in VENICE Italia. OOOOOOH AAAAH! BUT she should be home in time for the game tomorrow night. Go Sox!

I hope we are 10 and all do make it.

Cafe Iberico sounds like it will be perfect for us, regardless of the size.

Also, JJ I'll bring my camera for pics.
Please email me... [email protected]

I'm working at trying to make it into the city to have a mini gtg with MelissaHI coming to Chicago from O'ahu
for work... can anyone possibly make it Friday evening for dinner, Dec 2 or Sat, Dec 3?? Let me know if you can.

Aloha for now!! ><

Or December 4!! I'm free Fri/Sat/sun.

And I am gonna die!! Here in Honolulu it dropped to 74 degrees last night. I shivered in bed thinking, "Brrr.....winter is here."
