Haven't eaten at Elways but the parking lot is always full. North is the newest restaurant in the area ( excellent reviews) and although we haven't been there, we do fequent its Tucson and Scottsdale counterpart and would recommend it. Piatti's is also dependable and The Fourth Story in The Tatttered Covered bookstore. The Cherry Cricket is the best place for hamburgers.

Go Fish Grille for fish, Little Ollie's for Asian, Kona Grille for great happy-hour on the patio (half-price appetizer, sushi, and pizza menu), Fourth Story for good food and great atmosphere, California Pizza Kitchen for a good enough chain, Panera Bread is also a chain with good sandwiches/salad/soup, Brothers Barbeque (slightly out of Cherry Creek at 6th and Washington) for low-key great barbeque, lots and lots of choices in Cherry Creek. You won't be disappointed. (Haven't been to Elways but hear it's good, and pricey.)

Lamchop,
I'll take these one at a time:
Steakhouses - Have heard good things about Elway's but haven't been yet. "Bob's" is a small chain (4 restaurants) of steakhouses that's also supposed to be good. Located across the street from J.W. Marriott in CC. "Steak au Poivre" is a brand new one with a French flair that just opened as well. Don't know if it makes a difference but Elway's is non-smoking; Bob's is smoking.
Italian - historytraveler is right that NorTH is the newest hot property right now. Located next door to J.W. Marriott and supposed to be an excellent Italian restaurant. Campo di Fiori is also supposed to be excellent--the people who own this one also have a successful one in Aspen.
Seafood - May not be what you're looking for but Taza Sushi in Cherry Creek is one of the top sushi restaurants in Denver. Believe it or not, that's saying a lot.
Mexican - CC is not known for its Mexican restaurants but perhaps someone will have a suggestion.
Breweries - Most are downtown. The only one I know of in CC is "Hops" and its a mediocre chain.
Greek - Ten minutes from CC is the Monaco Inn. Been run by the same Greek family for thirty years and it's awesome. Not much atmosphere but the Mousaka, lamb ribs, calamarika, tyropitas, dolmades and avgolemina soup are all fantastic. Mike's wife makes the Mousaka and baklava herself--make sure to have both.

We forgot to mention Barolo Grill, on 6th Avenue. They supposedly have one of the most impressive wine lists in town. In fact, we drove by last night and the entire restaurant is closed because the staff has gone to Italy! I think they do wine-tasting trips there regularly.
