Chatham to P-Town on Sat - traffic???
We are spending 4 days in Chatham in a few weeks. I wanted to spend one day in P-Town and was thinking about driving there and back on Sat - is that a crazy idea due to traffic or will we be okay? Thanks!

I personally would not do it on Saturday although the crowds will have diminished a bit by then. I also would not do it on a cloudy day. Everybody else does!
If you like spices and interesting cooking items don't miss the Atlantic Spice Company. It is in Truro (on Route 6), just before the P-town line. Great place!

Saturday is the worst possible day of the week to drive on the Cape - most rentals are Sat-Sat and everyone is either coming or going. Not sure what gomiki means about crowds being dimished by then - perhaps it being the end of the summer? But plenty of schools in the northeast do not start until after Labor Day and most camps are over by then - so it is a big vacation week. Go Friday or Sunday, although heading back to Chatham on Sunday you may hit some weekenders leaving Cape.
And pay attention to the weather - as previously mentioned, when it rains on the Cape, everyone drives someplace.
