We quite fancy the Chateau Sonesta for our stay in NO. Has anyone stayed there recently? All comments welcome.

They are trying to help you get an answer to your questions by topping it so it goes back to the top of the list.
Many posts get lost in the hundreds of other posts unless someone does this.

Ashleen, we stayed at the Chateau Sonesta right after it opened and did not have a great experience, but it could have been just our situation. We got a $99 a night special and ended up with a room(warehouse-like) over looking Iberville St. Maybe that was why it was cheap. You will not get much sleep on a weekend night because the windows let you hear everything. The hotel was full on our stay so we could not switch rooms. Nothing was spectacular about the room. A/C did not cool the room till close to morning because it got afternoon sun on the Iberville side. If you do stay there, get an interior room. The hotel could be great if the upgraded rooms are nice and you get an interior room. I think all the rooms are large with tall ceilings. Best of luck in lodging and enjoy our favorite place to visit! Pool was nothing great and is shaded most of the time!

Thanks for the comments, Pete. We were thinking of staying here, too, but I think we'll try someplace in a quieter area of the Quarter.
