Charleston, SC

I'm planning on taking a 3-4 day trip to Charleston, SC with my mother and my one year old son. I was wondering where in the city is a good/fun place to stay with access to to restaurants, activities, and the beach. Any input would be appreciated!

Probably conservatively there must be 100 extensive threads about Charleston and all there is to do.

Agree with Gretchen!
Start with a search (using the "Search the Forums" box at the top) of previous & similar questions and answers. Then, narrow your focus and please give specifics.

RIght. There's lots of good stuff to do here. What do you like? More importantly, what do you like to eat?

The best place to stay is in the historic district. We stayed at the Best Western King Charles Inn, which is very well situated for everything. The BW is o.k., but, if we visit again, we will probably look for another hotel in the same vicinity.

Charleston's historic neighborhood is beautifiul. Here is a good overview: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/charleston/
