Charleston, SC

We are interested in a good seafood restaurant in Charleston - any suggestions? Also, is the horseback riding worth the $85 at Stone River Stables?

Since no one has responded, I thought I'd mention that we went to Hyman's and thought it was pretty good, maybe a bit of a tourist spot.

My husband and I just visited Charleston last month and had a hard time deciding between which restaurant to eat at. The majority of restaurants do serve seafood (even though they are not considered "seafood specific". We had a terrific dinner at both 82 Queen and Magnolia's. We have also heard great things about Slightly North of Broad, Fig, McCrady's, High Cotton. Some seafood items that are usually on the menus: shrimp and grits, grouper, she-crab soup, mahi mahi - to name a few.

The choices are endless. For a good breakfast we enjoyed Joseph' Restaurant. You'll have a great time in Charleston. We did! Especially the food!! - Susan

We loved Magnolia's too; if we can vote for that as a seafood restaurant, then I change my vote - lol.

By far, I best liked SNOB the time I went to Charleston.

Hyman's is a tourist place. In a great food town like Charleston, avoid it.

I love High Cotton for brunch.Get the shrimp and grits. McCrady's, SNOB, Fig, Hank's, 82 Queen and Magnolia's are great too. Peninsula Grill is my choice for an extra special dinner. Get the coconut cake.

White shrimp are coming into season. Make sure you ask for locally caught shrimp and support or local shrimpers! Have fun

OOO right, Gretchen! The Seewee is worth the trip. Maybe I'll go up there this afternoon. That eggplant is the best.
