Catalina Island - Dec Jan vacation

I have heard that Catalina Island is a great place. Can't seem to find much information. Any comments/experiences?

If you can't find much information, then you really haven't looked.

Do a search on this site, on google, or on the search engine of your choice and you will find plenty.

Great little vacation island. But probably not the best during January - maybe a little chilly. No cars and a little town. Fun place to hang out for a weekend.

Catalina is a very unique place. The quaint charms of the tiny city of Avalon might keep you busy for three, four, five days... but after that, the only folks who truly enjoy Catalina for extended visits are those who like the outdoors. Outside of Avalon, the main draw is the Scuba diving, the hiking, and the boating. Folks into these three activities would be happy living there, but if not, you might do some research and, perhaps, split your vacation time amongst Catalina, and another destination in So Cal that you might be interested in.

December and January would be boring to me! It does get rainy and cold, and one of the best things about Catalina is the Beach and the summer music, water activities, and nightlife. with everything in low gear, it would be a disappointment.
