Casual sit down restaurants - Dennis, Chatham, Provincetown - Cape Cod

Looking for info on restaurants that won't break the bank, where we can rest our weary bodies by sitting down in air conditioning, but not the usual clam shacks. We love those too, but looking for good sit downs. We are staying in Dennis, but will be exploring that whole end of the Cape. Thanks for any help.

Try Oliver's on 6A in Dennis. Good food, reasonable prices (or they were during the winter anyway).

There's a place on 28 in Hyannis / Dennis area that we used to take the kids to. It looks like a big tacky ship run aground, but the food is good and plentiful, the service courteous, and the prices moderate. Do any fellow Fodorites recall the restaurant?

A third vote for the Chatham Squire. Lunch or dinner are great there.

If you're on the Outer Cape, try Eastham Lobster Pool on Rt. 6 (right hand side as you're traveling toward P'town). Very good seafood in a casual atmosphere.

In Orleans, I like the Old Jailhouse Tavern at 28 West Road (near intersection of West Rd. and Old Colony Way, I think). Great food at reasonable prices.

Grumpy's on Route 6A in Dennis has wonderful breakfasts and lunches. Also, Kreme and Kone on the corner of Routes 134 and 28 is excellent for seafood--very casual, good family place. In Chatham, the Country Squire and the Impudent Oyster are good choices. Outside of Provincetown on Route 6A is Michael Shay's. It has wonderful food, reasonable prices, good service, and is very comfortable. On Commercial Street in Provincetown itself is the Lobster Pot. It looks most unimpressive outside, but the food is good and the views of the harbor wonderful.

I'm not sure if it's still open, but Pisces in Chatham was wonderful--delicious food and great service.

Pisces is still open and I have heard wonderful things about it from folks who really know and appreciate good food. It is in Chatham.
