I was so disappointed in the bats....
I was pretty excited for it as silly as that might seem. I would still go on the bridge and watch them but I would not do what we didn't pay for the silly little bat "tour" on a boat.

Adding... If you have the budget I would stay at the four seasons it's really quite lovely... I have never stayed there but have been there a few times...
If my husband and I can get a weekend away I would really love to stay there...

Bats are best seen in July and especially August. They come out all year round, but not en masse and not much of a showing otherwise.

The W is another nice hotel. They have a few bars, music, restaurant. Great location too.

Wow, should have seen something! Wonder if it was soon after a rain... They don't go far for bugs when we get rain. Also depends on when the babies were born. In any event if you are here in August, try again for the best chance.

Oh sorry Austin.. We saw some it was just not much.. I had seen photos and was excited and it was sort of a "oh - okay" .. And the smell is horrible
