cape may motels
we will be in cape may in late may. Looking for a motel. not a b&b - will have a lot of birding and photo equipment and the rooms are too small and no on site parking etc.
so want a motel. but when reading reviews on trip advisor they all seem mixed. older, run down. musty, etc.
anyone have a recommendation? doesn't have to be on the beach. willing to spend up to $200 or even a little more with tax. etc. a night.

Hi Joanel,
No doubt about it - Cape May is about B&Bs.
In your shoes I would consider looking a little further north. Seven mile island, which is Stone Harbor and Avalon, will afford you several opportunities for a motel in late May. These places are only a twenty minute drive to Cape May. Trip advisior will find them for you. And, they include parking along with some beautiful beach walks.

We stayed at the La Mer in September 2007. Not old, musty or rundown. Only small complaint is that it's a bit of a walk to the center of town, which might not concern you.

I think you may be ruling out B&B's too quickly.
I would think you could find a B&B with a suite (multiple rooms) and onsite parking.
Try checking out:

Wildwood Crest is another possibility. There are dozens of motels there and it's a short ride from there to Cape May.
If you are going to stay in Cape May, I would look at La Mer, Montreal Inn, Capri Motor Inn and Marquis de Lafayette.
They are all on the beachfront with plenty of parking.
All of these motels are on www.MyJerseyShore.com with links to their Web sites and maps of their location.
Have a great time and please let us know where you decided to stay.
