Cape Cod - Chatham or Falmouth?
Hi. My husband and I are planning to go to Cape Cod the weekend of July 4th. We have narrowed it down to 2 inns in 2 towns. We are looking at the Captain's House Inn in Chatham or the Inn at the Sound in Falmouth. Both look very nice. We are planning to just relax, sit in the sun, walk around town and eat some great food (as well as see some fireworks). I have been to Chatham and know that it is a charming town to walk around with shops and restaurants. I have not been to Falmouth (or any surrounding towns). Is the Falmouth area a good place to stay?
Thanks so much for any help!

Chatham is indeed a very lovely town. Never stayed there, so can't comment on The Captain's House. We HAVE stayed at the Inn on the Sound in Falmouth and it is absolute perfection. The innkeepers are wonderful and the views from the inn are to die for. Handy for hoping the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, also. You cannot go wrong with the Inn on the Sound. Happy times to you

The towns are similar and both have shops, restaurants, etc.. Falmouth puts you quite far from the National Seashore but close to ferries to the Islands. Since you haven't explored the upper Cape before, it makes sense to stay in Falmouth and decide which town or area you prefer! Both Inns are stunning.
