I'm not mms or beachbum, but I'll say that my 30-something young professionals loved Andina:

Very creative drinks, and great food, tapas-style.

The food won't wow you, but the bar scene at Bay 13 has been quite lively any time I've been in there, sunbum. Of course, I'm ummm... just a bit older than your daughter. ;-) Bluehour's bar has been a favorite spot too, but I haven't been there in a while. Both places are in the Pearl.
I like Andina, too; food is great there. But I don't think of it as a "hang out" kind of place.
Have fun! Nice to have that time with your daughter.

Definitely Henry's. Over 100 beers on tap, a really good martini list, and a nice billiards room upstairs. There is a bar area as well as the restaurant area. Both are nice. Definitely full of young professionals. My husbands MBA class had their graduation celebration there, and the group fit right in.
I can't quite tell from your post, but does she need suggestions for places to stay as well or does she have that covered?

Thanks everyone - she comes on Sat- yahoo!!
Maybe we will go to all the places you suggested -
I may be a little older too Beachbum but I CAN keep up with them.
We are staying at the Inn at Northrup Station - nice because you can walk to the 23rd St area
You all have a fun time with your families too.

If you're staying on 23rd, I would suggest 23 Hoyt. It's gotten a lot of acclaim lately. They have a really good happy hour. Here are some more good restaurants in Stumptown:
Toro Bravo--cannot recommend this one enough. It is tapas and they are incredible. All of Portland will be there, though, so go early.
Ten 01
Olea
Oba
Manzana
Portland City Grill
For drinks, check out:
Teardrop--this place is GREAT!
Vault (though a bit crowded on Sat.)
District (Right next door to Vault)
Bartini
Brazen Bean
Camellia Lounge
Let us know where you end up going!
