Calling all Wine-O's, et al
If you're in Sonoma County March 5,6,& 7 and want a truly fun tasting event then come on by! This is a "futures" tasting-no bottles just barrels-you can bring your glass or by a logo glass for $5.
Most of the wineries are around Healdsburg
Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River areas
As always, check wineroad.com
Hey, lets have a Fodorite meet-up!

Hey easytraveler: The 5$ is it! Remember you are tasting future bottlings-IME
most of it was very good! some need more aging to bottle and some need to sit on your shelf till 2008 (but who can ever wait!) Ha-ha! Most of the wineries have nibbles at no charge as well.

This is a really fun event. Wineries that are usually only open by appointment are open to all. The wineries usually serve great appetizers too. For the record, last year the best appetizers were served at Alexander Valley Vineyards.

Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy!
This event reminds me of a French song we learnt as children and had no idea what the heck we were singing!
Chevaliers de la table ronde,
Venez voir si le vin est bon,
Venez voir, oui, oui, oui,
Venez voir, non, non, non
Venez voir si le vin est bon.
[Knights of the round table,
Come and see if the wine is good,
Come and see, yes, yes, yes
Come and see, no, no, no
Come and see if the wine is good.]
Les deux pieds contra la muraille
Et la tete sous le robinet
Et la tete, oui, oui, oui
Et la tete, non, non, non
Et la tete sous le robinet!
(With both feet up against the wall
and the head under the spigot
and the head, yes, yes, yes
and the head, no, no, no
and the head under the spigot!)
There were a whole lot more verses which I can't remember!
With full apologies to all French speakers for my fractured French!
razzledazzle: I done am ready for this event!

Kal-oh sure, you're busy
but it's WINE, darlin!
kim-about 100 wineries in the Healdsburg area-Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Russian River Valley.
You and your glass hop around the wineries on the list at wineroad.com -that's where(s) it's taking place.

Hi, Razz!
Is this still on?
'Cause ah's acomin' and already made my first bid on Priceline for a hotel (Got the Rohnert Park Doubletree for $57 a night!).
This bidding on Priceline could be a lot of fun! I could go on spending money like this - unseen, untouched, and who knows where the money is coming from to pay for these internet transactions? Lo!
Do we get together for dinner too? Or are we going to drink - erh, taste - our way until the last one falls?
Is this the trip to meet the legendary Kal?
It's the weekend, hope you are checking in! Can't wait to meet up with more Fodorites!

ET: Me is sidelined by an on again/off again flu for the moment. (When WILL this finally go away?!) Anywho- as yet 10 days+ has passed without any interest about organizing anything-I just let any organized thing go it's own way. and about the only way I'm going at this writing is horizontal.
I will wish you a grand time,go and have yourself a fine time and report back to us.

razzledazzle: I'm so sorry! This has been a terrible flu - some of my friends have gotten it and it's laid them low for quite awhile.
Rest up! Hope you are getting some chicken soup (organic chickens from Petaluma!) and lots of sleep! Take care of yourself!
I'll let you know how our trip turns out!
